There is something special about an early C2 Corvette that has retained the look and character Chevrolet gave it more than 60 years ago.
This 1964 Corvette Coupe is finished in its factory-correct Silver Blue over an original dark blue interior and is powered by its matching-numbers 327 cubic-inch V8 rated at 300 horsepower, paired with a 4-speed manual transmission.
The combination is exactly what you want in a mid-year Corvette: small-block V8, four gears, knock-off wheels, blackwall tires, and one of the best body designs Chevrolet ever produced.
The car has been carefully maintained and improved where it counts while retaining its original character. The 327 has been rebuilt, the cooling system has been upgraded with a new aluminum radiator and fresh hoses, and the braking system has been upgraded to power disc brakes. It starts easily, settles into a smooth idle, and has proven itself on extended trips, including participation in a previous Power Tour.

F11 identifies a February 11, 1964 body build date.
Style 64 837 identifies a 1964 Corvette Coupe.
Body S4576 identifies the St. Louis-built body.
Trim 490BA identifies the original blue vinyl interior.
Paint 912AA identifies the original Silver Blue exterior.
Silver Blue was one of Chevrolet's factory Corvette colors for 1964, and the blue-on-blue combination suits the C2 body exceptionally well.
A Corvette Made to Be Driven
The engine rebuild was completed along with a repaint, and the car continues to present extremely well. The Silver Blue finish has excellent depth and complements the chrome, knock-off wheels, and blackwall tires without taking away from the clean lines of the Sting Ray coupe.
The paint does have a small area of rub at the driver's door, but overall the exterior presents beautifully.
More importantly, this Corvette is not simply a car that has spent its life being polished in a garage. It has been driven and enjoyed. A previous Power Tour trip demonstrated that it is comfortable doing far more than a short trip to the local cruise night.
The rebuilt 327 starts quickly and idles smoothly, while the 4-speed manual gives the car exactly the kind of mechanical connection that makes these early Corvettes so enjoyable to drive.
Original Interior
Inside, the dark blue interior remains largely original and has been preserved remarkably well.
The seats, door panels, dashboard, carpeting, gauges, and trim retain the period appearance that makes an original C2 interior so appealing. There is some expected wear on the lower carpeted section of the driver's door panel from years of entering and exiting the car, but that wear is part of an otherwise very well-preserved original cabin.
The AM/FM slidebar radio remains in place, and all of the gauges function, including the clock.
Even the hidden headlights operate as they should, opening and closing together.
Period Appearance With Sensible Upgrades
One of the strengths of this Corvette is that the improvements have focused on making it easier and more enjoyable to drive rather than changing its personality.
The aluminum radiator and renewed cooling system provide additional confidence on longer drives, while the power disc brake conversion gives the driver more modern braking performance.
A fresh set of bias-ply tires is currently mounted for the period-correct look and driving experience. For an owner who prefers the road manners of a modern tire, a separate new set of four radial tires is also included.
Under the hood, the Corvette retains the details enthusiasts expect to see, including the correct twin-snorkel air cleaner and chrome ignition shielding.
A Very Special Mid-Year Corvette
This is the kind of Corvette that works equally well for the enthusiast who appreciates originality and the owner who actually wants to drive their classic.
The factory Silver Blue color, original dark blue interior, matching-numbers 327, 4-speed manual transmission, working equipment, documented trim tag, and thoughtful mechanical upgrades make it a particularly attractive example of the 1964 Sting Ray coupe.
It presents beautifully, starts easily, drives well, and retains the look and feel that made the C2 Corvette an American icon.
